'Broken Window Theory' - By Stuart Copeland. 'Broken Window Theory is the dominant theory in administrative and environmental criminological practice. It states that 'a broken window not repaired, results in vandals breaking a few more. Eventually, they may even break into the building, and if it's unoccupied, perhaps become squatters or light fires inside.' The objective of the theory is to prevent financial costs escalating, and the prevent further criminality. But looking from the outside, through this broken window challenges the theory in terms of the behavioural activity that degrades the inside, by depicting the bright and colourful artwork.'
