Presenter of the influential TV teen pop show 'American Bandstand' Dick Clark died in Santa Monica, California on 18 April. Although it was not screened in the UK, American Bandstand had over 20 million viewers and Clark, with this and numerous other productions, became a broadcasting legend, hosting the show for 30 years.
