The great grandson of William Foyle (who founded the famous London bookshop) dropped out of Edinburgh College of Art to pursue a career in painting in London. His oils of close friends and family at his first solo show at Mayfair's Gallery 8 capture the essence of the sitter in thick brushstrokes.
