In pictures: The winners of the Red Bull Illume Photography competition

The winners of this year's Red Bull Illume Photography Competition have been announced.

The competition celebrates the best and most creative images from the world of action and adventure sports. This year 28,257 photographs were submitted by 6,417 photographers from 124 countries.

This year's overall winner was Lorenz Holder for his stunning image of a snowboarder on the side of a giant satellite.

Winners in some of the categories included Scott Serfas in the Illumination category for a snowboarder in Alaska, and Daniel Vojtěch in the New Creativity category for his shot of a mountain bike racer doing a flip. 

There were 50 judges who chose the 50 finalists, with a winner in each of the 10 categories and an overall winner. Entires from the top finalists were displayed in Hong Kong and will be shown across the world in a special nighttime exhibition.
