Architecture Update: Heavyweight title fight

ARCHITECTS will fight government plans to repeal the Architects' Registration Acts of 1931, which prevent almost anybody other than qualified architects from using the title. The Royal Institute of British Architects plans to hire parliamentary lobbyists in an attempt to change the Government's mind. If this fails, it will launch a rear-guard campaign to promote the title 'chartered architect' to distinguish those who have successfully undertaken recognised architectural training.
