An art exhibition in Manila has been shut down after it provoked heated debate for combining Christian symbols with phallic objects.
The decision by the Cultural Centre of the Philippines came a day after the former first lady, Imelda Marcos, joined politicians and Catholic leaders in denouncing it. Protesters had vandalised an installation, removing a wooden penis from a poster depicting Christ.
