Comic-strip inspired prints of ‘fan boys' (a term for obsessive hobbyists, usually male) and superheroes will go on show at the Pictures on Walls Gallery in London tomorrow.

It will be the first custom print show for Brisbane-based artist Anthony Lister whose variety of alter-egos will stare down from the 100 colourful works on display.

The artworks subvert familiar characters and tropes within the animated and graphic artwork sphere, examining good and evil, violence and humour – recasting villains as heroes and heroes as villains.

The ‘Fan Boy’ works, which POW describes as “halfway between an original painting and a silk screen print”, are reflective of his eclectic blend of styles.

New paintings and stickers will also be on show alongside the prints until 22 July.
