The 'foursie' has been invented to keep ponies warm

This is what happens when the practical and the adorable come together.

Ascot Racecourse created what they dubbed the Christmas 'foursie' for Shetland pony, Daffy. 

The equestrian take on the 'onesie' is positively precious in appearance, yet it serves an extremely practical purpose for its wearer. Daffy's owner and Animal Trainer for Animal Dramatics, Jackie Rowberry, has stated, "In winter I always worry about Daffy getting chilly as he likes to spend so much time out of his stable. I love the fact that Ascot has created a special 'foursie' for Daffy so that he can get into the Christmas spirit. He's loved all the attention and is quite the envy amongst his stable buddies!"

Nick Smith, Head of Communications and International Racing at the Racecourse, adds, "We wanted to do something fun and festive to mark the upcoming Christmas Racing Weekend which is always a great occasion. Racegoers often turn out in their Christmas outfits and we raise a lot of money for local charities too."

Well, it looks as if Daffy might have gotten a Christmas outfit of his own. 

The 'foursie' was created to mark Ascot Racecourse's Christmas Racing Weekend, taking place on both Friday 18 and Saturday 19 December.
