This week's selection includes five art websites that feature online image bookmarking.
1. Ffffound! - http://ffffound.com/
Ffffound! lets users recommend and share interesting images they have found with others on the web. Ffffound! also provides (invited) users with personalized collections of images that have been hand-picked to suit their tastes.
2. Oobject - http://oobject.com
OObject is an image bookmarking site that curates similar sets of images. The website combines design blogging with images of technology and gadgetry to create visually interesting sets of photos. These lists (which can feature unusual combinations such as "13 disgusting pepsi flavors" or " 12 failed Apple products") are then rated by members of the Oobject community.
3. We Heart It - http://weheartit.com/
WeHeartIt presents bookmarked images within a slickly designed user interface. The service appeals to users as it gives them the ability to tag and comment on images they "heart." Users can create a personalized page featuring their favorite images and videos and can interact with an active social community of image-lovers.
4. Vi.sualize.us - http://vi.sualize.us/
Vi.sualize.us is a downloadable Firefox extension that lets you bookmark the images that catch your eye as you explore the web. Bookmarked images are saved to the Vi.sualize.us site so other users can see your visual tastes.
5. Typeish - http://www.typeish.com/
Don't let the bright yellow notepad background fool you. Typeish is also an image bookmarking database website. To play, users have to send an email to the Mexican creators asking for an "upload kit." The website has a strong affiliation with images created by graphic designers and gives image search a "fresh feel."
