In the first week of November photo buffs will be exploring new trends in photography during Salon de la Photo in Paris, France. In Italy, fresh new galleries will showcase works by emerging and established contemporary artists at the Artissima International Fair of Contemporary Art.

Salon de la Photo is a major photographic fair held every year in Paris. Visitors come to discover the latest innovations from leading photography brands, purchase new equipment and view the work of leading photographers from around the world. More than 80,000 visitors are expected to attend in 2010.

Artissima International Fair of Contemporary Art is an art event dedicated to young, contemporary artists and exciting new galleries; 153 galleries from across the globe will showcase outstanding artworks in the fields of drawing, sculpture, installation, video, photography and performance art.
The first ever Salon d'Automne was held in 1903 and was organized by four famous French artists: André Derain, Henri Matisse, Albert Marquet and Georges Rouault. In 2010 the Salon d'Automne continues the tradition of showcasing expressive art indicative of art movements taking place in the contemporary 21st century. Over 450 artists and exhibitors from around the world will display paintings, sculptures, drawings, engravings, photography, mural art design, books, videos, installations, performance art and digital art works.

PINTA is an annual event that highlights the best of Latin American art selected by prestigious galleries from the United States, Latin America and Europe. In 2010, 50 galleries will put on display museum-quality abstract, concrete, neo-concrete, kinetic and conceptual works of art. PINTA coincides with Christie's and Sotheby's Latin American art auctions.
Former factory buildings behind Zurich-Oerlikon railway station
Eighty international galleries will take part in the 2010 KUNST 10 Zurich contemporary art fair for its 16th edition. More than 20,000 visitors attending the fair will be exposed to a mixture of contemporary, classic and modern art from Swiss and international galleries.

Paris Photo is one of the world's leading photography events. Organizers expect 40,000 visitors to attend the event. More than 100 galleries and publishers will present a wide-ranging overview of photographic works spanning from 19th century classics to abstract and artistic compositions captured by contemporary artists. In 2010 the event coincides with the "Mois de la Photo," a month-long photographic event in Paris.
Istanbul Convention and Exhibition Center (ICEC)
Contemporary Istanbul is considered by many to be the "most extensive" contemporary and modern art event within Turkey. The Fair presents the art-going public with new perspectives on Turkish art and juxtaposes these with a selection of contemporary works from galleries around the world. Conferences, exhibitions and additional art projects will run parallel to the event.
ST-ART European Contemporary Art Fair

The 15th edition of the European Contemporary Art Fair in Strasbourg is focused on making contemporary art available to everyone. Around 100 galleries will exhibit works from all over the globe for an expected crowd of 28,000 visitors. Organizers hope to empower first-time buyers and returning art collectors by giving them the possibility to purchase artworks made by artists who are embracing and creating new art movements throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
The Art Miami Pavilion
In 2010, Art Miami will celebrate its 21st anniversary. The event will take place during Miami Art Week and will showcase contemporary art works from over 100 international and local contemporary art galleries. In 2009 a total of 36,000 people attended the show.

Art Basel Miami Beach is a major event in the US and international arts calendar. This year the fair will play host to over 250 leading art galleries and will showcase artworks from more than 2,000 international and local artists. The prestigious event is now in its 41st year and functions as a space for showcasing the crème de la crème of contemporary art and as a social networking event for the who's who of the American art scene. A range of exhibitions, special events and parties will be held in conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach.
Turner Prize winner announced

The Turner Prize is a contemporary art award given to a British artist under the age of 50. One of four shortlisted artists for 2010 will be awarded the prestigious Turner Prize on December 6. Dexter Dalwood, Angela de la Cruz, Susan Philipsz and The Otolith Group are the hopeful candidates for this year's award. A selection of works created by the artists is on show at the Tate Britain until January 3, 2011.
Nam June Paik Retrospective

The Tate Liverpool is holding the first major UK-based retrospective of video artist, performer and composer Nam June Paik. The retrospective includes works from the entirety of the artist's career, but will focus on Paik's innovative use of creative technology.
