A budget of more than $70 million is being planned for the elaborate 3D film, which will need to depict a shipwreck as well extensive scenes of a teenage boy sharing a life raft with a zebra, hyena, and tiger.
Fox 2000 president Elizabeth Gabler is reportedly hoping to begin filming in August with the aim of a 2012 release.
