March best-selling books on Amazon (UK and US)

In the UK, Amazon's best-selling book during the month of March was a new edition of The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest by Stieg Larsson, the last title in Larsson's Millennium thriller trilogy. In the US, the month's best-selling title was The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine by Michael Lewis, a newly published book analyzing the US economic crisis.

Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy dominates the UK chart, holding the first, second, and fourth spots. In third place is a the paperback edition Wolf Hall, Hilary Mantel's Booker Prize-winning 2009 novel; the paperback was published on March 4. Other new titles on the list include David Nicholls's romantic comedy One Day in paperback, Lee Child's South Dakota-set thriller 61 Hours, and Ian McEwan's Solar; both those titles came out in hardcover on March 18.

In the US, top titles include Kathryn Stockett's The Help, a novel set during the American civil rights movement, and food writer Michael Pollan's guide to healthy eating, Food Rules, due out in the UK on May 27. New titles on the list include Change Your Brain, Change Your Body, a health and weight loss guild by celebrity doctor Daniel G. Amen, and Now Eat This!, with recipes for healthier versions of American comfort foods. Also new is Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang, a book of essays by comedian and talk show host Chelsea Handler.
