Al Gore reads from new book at Miami Book Fair

Set on the campus of Miami-Dade College in downtown Miami, the 26th annual book fair (November 8-15) is a week-long affair that attracts thousands of readers. The book festival's street fair over the weekend of November 13-15 features 250 publishers, exhibitors, and hundreds of authors speaking at readings, discussions and interviews.

Special ‘Evenings With' programs start November 8 with Canadian author Margaret Atwood (The Handmaid's Tale) who will read and speak about her latest book, The Year of the Flood, another tale of social upheaval and environmental catastrophe set in the near future. On November 9, Barbara Kingsolver will read from her latest novel The Lacuna, and former US Vice President Al Gore discusses his new book, Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis.

Also appearing is actress Isabella Rossellini on her latest media project Green Porno (HarperStudio), about the sex lives of insects, rock star Iggy Pop, filmmaker Mario Van Peebles, and revered authors Joyce Carol Oates and Turkey's Nobel Prize winner for Literature, Orhan Pamuk.

Of the several simultaneous panels and seminars, covering fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, is one track featuring the Ibero-American Authors Program.

There is also a Comix Galaxy, Children's Alley, Antiquarian Annex, and special tastings.
