Dennis Lehane's Shutter Island is in the top spot on's list of weekly bestselling Kindle e-books, released February 23 by Publishers Marketplace. In second and third are enduring favorites Dear John by Nicholas Sparks and The Help by Kathryn Stockett.

Dennis Lehane's psychological thriller Shutter Island, first published in 2003, climbed into the top ten list last week in anticipation of the release of the novel's film adaptation, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio. With the film now in theaters worldwide, the book has continued to climb the charts, moving from seventh to first place.

The romance Dear John, by Nicholas Sparks, is in the number-two spot following the release of a feature film based on the novel. Sparks's novel The Last Song is in fifth place; that title has been adapted into a film starring Miley Cyrus and due for release in late March.

Kathryn Stockett's The Help has been a best-seller in print and electronic versions since it was published a year ago. Stockett's debut novel, the book tells the story of a young woman in the American South during the civil rights movement.
