In this hard-hitting debut, former foreign correspondent Caroline Brothers imagines the realities of life for a pair of young asylum seekers hoping for a new start in the West.

When 14-year-old Aryan and his eight-year-old brother Kabir leave Afghanistan after the violent deaths of both parents, they have little idea of what lies ahead. The boys have barely made it from Turkey to Greece when abducted to work as slave labourers on a farm.

Their plight shouldn't get worse, but it does. Brothers uses her journalistic skills to tell a story that has the horrible ring of truth.
