Males produce 25 times as much testosterone per day as females. This explains male violence, aggression and, apparently, why Sue MacGregor is paid £20,000 less than Jim Naughtie. But it means men are less capable of being "emotional, spontaneous, empathetic... the markers of maturity and health". Men must place more value on "love and family" and less on "power and achievement", says Clare, concurrently Medical Director of St Patrick's Hospital and Professor of Psychiatry at Trinity College, Dublin.
