After-effects aside, the main surprise of this elevating addition to culinary literature is the authorial photo, Instead of the grizzled stoner you might expect, McDonough turns out to be a bright-eyed young Californian.
She advocates eating cannabis for "medible" properties ("soothes sore muscles, eases pain, aids relaxation") and "powerful psychedelic euphoria" but advises "plan your dosage carefully... those who've eaten too much cannabis may feel panicky, anxious, agoraphobic."
