A state of stasis pervades both here and in the US, the difference being that America has already got the year's big blockbusters - Mission: Impossible, Twister, The Rock - while we're stuck with the pre-summer flotsam and jetsam. How can it be that two of our top four films star Demi Moore? Come to think of it, how can it be that Demi Moore exists? Some ask the same of Jim Carrey. In The Cable Guy (opening here next month), he is a demented cable TV salesman who makes life hell for Matthew Broderick.
