Circo Rum Ba Ba's

As part of the BOC Covent Garden Festival (right), which runs until June 5, stilt-walker Marianne Grove will be gliding around the piazza with a mini opera production hidden under her enormous hooped skirt. The puppets which accompany her will be well dressed - their costumes are designed by students from the London College of Fashion.

Free For All

Museum of London, London Wall, London EC2 (0171-600 3699) today, 10am-5.50pm, free

To celebrate National Museums week, which ends on Sunday, this museum of London life is waiving its admission fees for the day. Special events include music and storytelling and a treasure trail through the museum. Nearly a dozen other museums all over the country will also be offering free entry today or tomorrow.

At this new 30-acre woodland discovery park, children can get a badger's- eye view of life underground from special viewing areas, as well as checking out dozens of animals, from polecats to beavers and wild-boar, all in enclosures which blend into the environment. There'll also be play spaces in the wood, plus trails and picnic areas.

Tamworth Castle

Tamworth, Staffs (01827 63563) today, 10am-5pm, free

This Norman castle will celebrate 100 years of being open to the public by offering free admission today along with a costumed re-enactment of the official opening back in 1899. There are 15 rooms to explore, including a dungeon, a great hall and an allegedly haunted bedroom. Re-enactments will take place every half hour from 10am- 12.30pm.

Teddy Bears' Picnic

Hove Museum and Art Gallery, 19 New Church Rd, Hove (01273 290200) today, 11am-3pm, free but a small charge for activities

Join the museum's teddies for a picnic in the grounds and a plethora of activities inside. Children are invited to bring a teddy and an adult.

Alice's Adventures
