Album: The Dublin Drag Orchestra, Motion of the Harvest/¡Viva Frida! (Heresy)
It takes chutzpah to programme Hank Williams alongside William Lawes.
Harvey Brough's Richard Hawleyish arrangement of "Cold, Cold Heart" for madrigal consort and viols is, like Clara Sanabras's Tiger Lillies-esque setting of Frida Kahlo's "La Vida Callada" aimed at the Late Junction listener. Elsewhere, the 17th-century fantasies, lute songs, dialogues and dances in this half-English, half-Mexican double-album should tickle the fancy of any Early Music purist.
