THEY do things more thoroughly, part 2: Denmark has a parliament that not only passes music laws, but revises them to increase the budget. As a result the nation's music funding agency has been in the happy position of considering what to do with more resources for music teaching, as well as orchestral upkeep and international promotion. This is the country that also has a position of State Ensemble, currently occupied by an experimental world music group called the New Jungle Orchestra, which took over last year from a string quartet.
