At the time of going to press, the Royal Ballet was still dancing away despite rumoured plans to cut adrift from the Royal Opera House, so they should still be on for a three-week season at the Sadler's Wells Theatre. There is a varied programme of short works and a revival of Twyla Tharp's Rossini ballet, Mr Worldly Wise (above). The company was hit hard recently by news that Tetsuya Kumakawa would leave, but this has meant that young virtuoso Shi-Ning Liu will get a showing. This week's programme features MacMillan's Concerto, William Forsythe's In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated and William Tuckett's jolly celebration of Celtic mouth music, Puirt-a-Beul. On Friday, they switch to Mr Worldly Wise, led by Irek Mukhamedov. A chance to remind yourself what all the fuss is about.
