Europe's most inspiring choreographer of dance theatre, Pina Bausch brings her celebrated Tanztheater Wuppertal back to London for its longest British season, featuring two productions not seen here before. It opens this week with one of her most famous pieces, Nelken, acclaimed all over the world (including the Edinburgh Festival 10 years ago) since its premiere in 1982. The title is the German name for carnations, and the stage is covered with thousands of the pink flowers. In this amazing context her cast of 21 dancers is joined by four professional stunt men and four Alsation dogs. Together they evoke ideas of growing up (as Bausch did) in 1940s Germany. Don't expect an ordinary dance production - Bausch has invented her own inimitable form of movement theatre.
