WES CRAVEN has a long and honourable history in horror movies; he is, after all, the man who dreamed up the Nightmare on Elm Street cycle. In 1996, he reinvigorated the genre with the box- office hit, Scream (oddly, originally entitled Scary Movie). The sequel - unsurprisingly called Scream 2 (10pm Sky Moviemax, right) and showing for the first time on satellite tonight - has as many jump-out-your-skin moments as the original. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette reprise their roles to take on a fiendishly persistent killer in this high-class frightener.

On the off-chance that you haven't already had enough scariness for one night, this is followed by two other well-made stalk-and-slash horror films in which no teenager can sleep safely: I Know What You Did Last Summer (12mdn't) and Friday the 13th (1.40am).
