Edinburgh Festival Day 17: Review: The Tale

Nervous and excited, sharing their little secret, Peter Hovak and Eva Magyar (who last year collaborated with Yvette Boszik on Soiree) exchange gloves and thereafter are joined, for better or worse, by the hand. The astonishing choreography that follows brutally explores the limits to which two people can go while bound together. Unburdened by text or naturalism, The Tale reveals better than many scripted plays the simultaneously restrictive and liberating nature of relationships. Very simple, very effective.

Demarco's (venue 22) St Mary's School, Albany St (031-558 3371). 4.15pm. To 3 Sept
