Edinburgh Festival Days 6 & 7: Anthony Morgan Stands Alone

When Anthony Morgan arrived in Edinburgh, he can have had no idea how prophetically titled his show was. There are few more distressing moments for a comedian than playing a 300-seater venue to 11 people. 'We've arrived from Australia, no one's heard of us, and they've all come.' A lesser performer might have referred to the pathetic huddle of an audience in passing and then strode manfully on with his set. Morgan, however, chose to base the entire show around the dire lack of punters, abandoning stage and microphone to come among us. He deserves a bigger audience.

Assembly at the Meadows, Middle Meadow Walk (venue 116), 031-229 9281. 6pm. To 5 Sept (not 25 Aug, not 1 Sept).
