Several events have taken place recently to mark the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the death camp at Auschwitz. The Imperial War Museum's UK outposts have contributed to these, not least the London home of the august institution.

The Holocaust Exhibition charts how, for the first time, industrial methods were used for the mass extermination of a race of people. The appalling story starts with the turbulent political environment in Europe after the First World War and traces the rise of the Nazi party. Also showing is a special 30-minute film: Crimes Against Humanity: an Exploration of Genocide and Ethnic Violence. Shot by film-makers Annie Dodds and James Barker, commentators include Fergal Keane, Martin Bell and international jurist Richard Goldstone. The film runs throughout the day.
