Rumors surrounding Arnold Schwarzenegger's return to film received a boost Sunday as the ex-Governor of California confirmed
The Terminator,
Predator, and
The Running Man as among possible contenders.
Whether those projects would take the form of sequels, remakes, re-boots or cameo roles was not made clear, though a fifth Terminator movie with Arnold taking a lead role had already been mooted.
Speaking during a March 6 question & answer seminar at the Arnold Sports Festival (known as the "Arnold Classic") in Columbus, Ohio, the film star said that more than 15 films were under consideration.
According to Brandon Krum of TheArnoldFans.com, Schwarzenegger promised further news on a different project in the not too distant future.
"I am also packaging a comic book character right now. I'm going to announce that sometime by the end of March or the beginning of April."
That's led to speculation concerning several comic-book conversions that Schwarzenegger had been linked to in the past, such as Doc Savage or Sgt. Rock, though the former Mr. Olympia could just as well be planning something new.
The August 2011 version of Conan the Barbarian - the 1982 interpretation of which launched Schwarzenegger's Hollywood career - is to star Jason Mamoa in the lead role.
