Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, the film follows robotics prodigy Hiro Hamanda, who finds himself in the midst of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy his high-tech hometown ‘San Fransokyo’.

With the help of his best friend, a robot named Baymax, the two recruit a reluctant team of inexperienced heroes – including adrenaline junkie Go Go Tamage, clean freak Wasabi No-Ginger, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred - to try and stop the criminal threat.

Featuring the voices of Jamie Chung, TJ Miller, Alan Tudky and Genesis Rodriguez, the trailer shows Big Hero 6 still has the heart and light humour that audiences have come to enjoy from Disney’s animated films.

Directed by Don Hall (Winnie the Pooh) and Chris Williams (Bolt), the film is the first Disney movie to feature Marvel characters since The Walt Disney Company bought Marvel Entertainment in 2009.

The film is due to be released in 3D in the UK on 30 January, making it a possible contender for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature following the success of Disney’s Frozen at the awards this year.
