Cultural Life: Eddie Marsan, Actor

Films
The last film I went to see was Pawel Pawlikowski's The Woman in the Fifth. I went to the screening with Pawel and Ethan Hawke [the lead actor]. Ethan plays the part, he has a kind of nervous breakdown. I'm not that interested in big sci-fi movies, they've never really appealed to me. I don't take much notice of genres. A good story is a good story. I would like to collaborate with Shane Meadows and Ken Loach.
Books
I've been reading a book called The Truman Presidency. I was staying at a friend's flat in Rome and he had it on his bookshelf. Now I'm ordering it on Amazon, for the last three chapters. It's an amazing story about a man who wasn't meant to be president. He had to make a decision on whether to drop the atom bomb on Japan. It's an amazing story. I sat there reading it gripped.
Theatre
The last thing I went to see was Sweeney Todd with Imelda Staunton and Michael Ball. I think Imelda is one the greatest actors we have got in this country.I first worked with her on Vera Drake. My wife takes the kids to the theatre a lot.
Music
I bought a song recently by Nick Lowe called "I Read a Lot" which I thought was beautiful. I'm not really up with contemporary music, I'm not that trendy.
'Snow White and the Huntsman' is out on Blu-ray and DVD on 1 October
