The recent adaptation of 2001 film Legally Blonde for the stage has highlighted an unusual deviation from the common cross-over between plays and film.

Usually hit stage shows like Mama Mia, Hairspray and Chicago are made turned into films once audiences have visited in their throngs.

It is surprising then when things work the other way around and hit films make the transition from the big screen to the boards.
