Nelson Mandela’s second wife, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, and British actor Idris Elba, who plays the anti-apartheid icon in Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom, attended the film’s premiere in Johannesburg on Sunday.

Largely based on the autobiography of the same name, it traces Mr Mandela’s life from his childhood in rural South Africa to his 1994 election as the country’s first black president.
