NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton was so popular that every corner of hip-hop history is now being considered for the big screen treatment.

First rumours circulated that a Snoop Dogg and 2Pac-centric film was in the works, now one about Outkast is being mulled over by Dre.

During a Reddit AMA, one half of Outkast, Big Boi, had this exchange:

User: ‘With all the hype of “Straight Out of Compton” [sic] It has made curious of other great rap stories. Any chance of an Outkast biopic of you and Andre in the future?’

Big Boi: ‘Me and ‘Dre were just discussing this over Labor Day. Stay Tuned.’

It remains to be seen whether Andre 3000 will give his blessing to the movie, typically the more reluctant of the duo.

Outkast’s history is definitely an interesting one, with the pair popularising Dirty South hip hop from their native Atlanta and going on to have huge success with double album Speakerboxx/The Love Below, before making a less well-received music film accompanying album and going on haitus.

The duo reunited in 2014 for live shows, which saw Andre wear a ‘SOLD OUT’ tag for most of them.
