Plot details of the sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 classic Blade Runner
Ryan Gosling has long been announced to join original star Harrison Ford - who'll reprise the role of Deckard - in the long-awaited follow-up alongside Robin Wright (House of Cards ) and Mackenzie Davis (The Martian ).

Canadian filmmaker Villeneuve's credits include Enemy and Sicario; his next film will be the Amy Adams-starring sci-fi Arrival , the trailer of which was released earlier on this week.
Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy ) and Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips ) will also star int he sequel that's being produced by the film's original director Ridley Scott.
Blade Runner 2 will be released in October 2017.
