Bourne Identity director Doug Liman releases VR series Invisible, thinks it may be the future of action films
'There’s no reason my films can’t work as hard as VR does to hook an audience'
Speaking about the six-parter, titled Invisible, Liman expressed how he believes VR is the future of action cinema.
"There’s no reason my films can’t work as hard as VR does to hook an audience and never let them go," he told The Verge.
He explained that the experience "will be in everything [he does] from this point forward."
For the project, Liman partnered with virtual reality cinema company Jaunt - it is now available to view on multiple VR platforms.
NBCUniversal is producing its own VR project Halcyon, a Syfy TV series that will be featuring five episodes specifically designed for Oculus Rift.
Liman, who recently stepped down as director of X-Men spin-off Gambit, will next direct DC mashup Justice League Dark. He has also announced plans to oversee Unearthed, an adventure being described as Indiana Jones-in-space adventure Unearthed.
