With a soundtrack by Celine Dion and an army of teenage fans, Titanic was never going to be seen as a masterpiece of depth and style. Now its place in the saccharine film canon has been sealed after Leonardo DiCaprio's declaration: "I'm the king of the world!" was voted the cheesiest line in film history.

A poll of 2,000 cinema fans found the sentence was the most pungent of all cheesy film lines. One moviegoer said: "It was as rotten as a six-month-old camembert." Patrick Swayze'smoment in Dirty Dancing, when he says solemnly of his love, played by Jennifer Grey: "Nobody puts Baby in the corner", was voted second.

Third place went to Andie MacDowellin Four Weddings And A Funeral. It's her moment with Hugh Grant in a downpour: "Is it still raining? I hadn't noticed."

The survey was commissioned by the food company Warburtons.
