Fast & Furious 7's sales are already bigger than the GDP of 16 countries

It's hard to comprehend the enormity of the Fast & Furious franchise. After dipping with the second movie it has only become more lucrative, the arrival of The Rock helping a great deal and 7's Paul Walker tribute causing it to supernova.

It has taken $1 billion at the box office in just 17 days. That's faster than Avatar, The Avengers and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, which all took 19 to reach that mark.

It has also brought in more money than entire nations.

Working off the International Monetary Fund's assessment, it's $1 billion sales are bigger than the GDPs of Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Vanuatu, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis , Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Comoros, Dominica , Tonga, Federated States of Micronesia , São Tomé and Príncipe, Palau, Marshall Islands , Kiribati and Tuvalu.

At this rate, Furious 7 is also on track to dwarf the output of Belize and the Seychelles.

Maybe Fast & Furious should just set up its own principality, ruled by Ludacris and only allowing vehicles that are neon green?
