M Night Shyamalan arguably pulled off the best twist of his career with Split: a comeback.

After years of box-office duds, the surprise Unbreakable sequel was both a critical and financial success, and somehow made the world once again excited for the next Shyamalan film.

his next project turned into Glass, the third part in the Unbreakable/Split series and likely the last.

"I would say so,” Shyamalan told EW regarding whether Glass marked the end of the cinematic universe.

“I have a lot of original stories I want to tell. I’m an original filmmaker and I want to keep on telling new stories and new characters. It’s fun for me to figure out a new language, and then learn it, and try to get an audience in two hours to learn, and accept it, and really find their way.”

Shyamalan has been working on a seperate TV series for Apple, revealing that the show will be a half-hour thriller but not alluding to further details.

The director has also started working on two further films: “Well, I’ve got two ideas and I guess after Glass opens, I’ll start to write them. I’m trying to decide which to do next. I’m leaning towards one over the other for the next one.”

Glass is in cinemas now.
