Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is fast approaching cinemas, Marvel fans excitedly waiting for Star Lord’s return.

We already know the space buccaneer’s father is Ego the Living, played by Kurt Russell, but there’s one other actor whose role is being kept highly under wraps: Sylvester Stallone.

According to a report by MovieBook that has been highly cited across the Internet, we may finally know which comic book character Stallone will be portraying on screen. SPOILERS AHEAD.

The Italian-language outlet posted an image of a press-release that seemingly reveals the Rambo actor’s character to be ‘Stakar.’

For those non-comic book aficionados, Stakar of the House of Ogord is better known as the hero Starhawk, a member of the 31st-century Guardians of the Galaxy and a being of immense power.

The comic’s depicted the character as being doomed to relive his life over and over again, each time being reborn from the same point but retaining memories.

This curse allows Starhawk to alter the outcome of his life, each time living a different timeline that inevitably ends up with the character being both a hero and a villain.

While Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has said Stallone’s character has deep roots in the Marvel universe, take the latest rumour with a pinch of salt. Vol. 2 reaches cinemas 28 April.
