Jon Snow may have met his grisly end in the Game of Thrones season five finale but Kit Harington fans will be relieved to see that he is alive, well and busy playing a gruelling game of tennis.

The 28-year-old actor is starring in new HBO mockumentary 7 Days in Hell about two fictional tennis rivals taking part in what ends up as a brutal seven-day five-set match. It may not sound like one but it's a comedy, and the words "Winter is coming" are never uttered as far as we know.

Harington is free of the beard and playing British "dim-witted prodigy" Charles Poole (oh yes, Jon Snow still "knows nothing") alongside Andy Samberg's "hyper-malcontent" Aaron Williams. HBO promises an "outrageous star-studded look at big-time tennis" and the lives and careers of Poole and Williams.

The hilarious trailer hints that we can expect a spoof of a sports documentary with cameos from the high-profile likes of John McEnroe, Serena Williams, June Squibb, Michael Sheen and Lena Dunham, all of whom somehow manage to keep convincing and all the more amusing straight faces.

There's not long to wait for 7 Days inHell, which airs on HBO at 10pm on Saturday 11 July.

As for Jon Snow, will he be back in season six of Thrones? Show bosses and Harington himself have ruled it out, but we're keeping our fingers crossed for a resurrection.
