New Man of Steel trailer follows Henry Cavill's rise to Superman
Warner Bros has released the trailer for the new film Man of Steel.
The film, from The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan, stars British actor Henry Cavill as Superman.
Cavill plays Clark Kent, a young journalist who is forced to confront his extra-terrestrial heritage when Earth is invaded by members of his race.
The trailer begins with Superman’s father (Russell Crowe) as he sends young Clark Kent down to earth.
It follows his journey from boy to Superman, with the voiceover: “What if a child dreamed of becoming something greater than society had intended?”
The film promises to be action-packed and full of tension as General Zod (Michael Shannon) demands Superman’s return after his army invades earth.
