Oscars announce 65 movies in Best Foreign Language Film competition

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences revealed a list of 65 international films in competition for the 2010 Best Foreign Language Film.

Submission rules have changed this year, disallowing the previous regulation that the films must feature the principal language of the country they are submitted by. The foreign language committee of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences will begin to host screenings of the 65 eligible films October 16 in Beverly Hills, California, to create a shortlist of nine semi-finalist films. This shortlist will be revealed in January, and official nominations will be announced February 2 with the full list of 2010 Academy Award noms. Next year's Oscar ceremony will be held at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California.
