Pakistan offers first Oscar entry in 50 years

Officials have put forward a film for the Oscars for the first time in almost 50 years, an indication that Pakistan’s struggling film industry is show signs of revival.

Zinda Bhaag (Flee Alive), and three others, Chambeli, Josh and Lamha, were “submitted for Oscar consideration in the Foreign Language Film Award category” selectors said, adding comedy Zinda Bhaag was the “overwhelming” choice of committee members.
