Looks like the self-nominated King of Geek Culture may be joining the cinematic adaptation of the ultimate in geek culture novels, Ready Player One .
Simon Pegg is currently in talks to join the burgeoning cast of the Steven Spielberg-directed film, says The Hollywood Reporter ; which has already signed the likes of Tye Sheridan , Ben Mendelsohn, and Olivia Cooke.
The film adapts Ernest Cline's best-selling novel, which sees a teenager (Sheridan) compete in a treasure hunt across a virtual world called OASIS, in order to win the fortune of its deceased creator.

Ready Player One is set to film in June, with a US release date 30 March 2018.
