James Bond might take his martini on the rocks, but the current incarnation of 007 was enjoying ice of another kind today.

Daniel Craig posed for photographs with Bond girl Léa Seydoux in some rather fetching skiwear at the Soelden resort in Austria.

Former wrestler Dave “Batista” Bautista, the next villain going head-to-head with Ian Fleming’s spy, was also there for the photocall.

Filming for Sam Mendes’ second Bond film began in December when Craig was spotted careering down London’s River Thames in a speed boat alongside Rory Kinnear (MI6 chief of staff, Bill Tanner).

Spectre follows Mendes’ Skyfall which became the most commercially successful Bond film in the franchise’s 50 year history, grossing over $1000 million worldwide.

The first details of the latest film were revealed in a live announcement from Pinewood Studios in December. Mendes said: “Those of you who have some knowledge of the Bond franchise and the legend of Bond will probably have some idea what [Spectre] refers to, but I couldn’t possibly comment.”

Fans will recall the agency Spectre (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) from Fleming's novel Thunderball and the movie Dr No.

Led by evil genius and supervillain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, the vast fictitious terrorist organisation has its own Island training base and top level members are drawn from the world's greatest criminal organisations from the Gestapo to the Mafia.

Christoph Waltz is playing Bond’s ski instructor Oberhauser – but there have been widespread rumours that the character is actually Blofield in disguise.

Spectre is due for UK release on 6 November 2015.
