There's one thing everyone's dying to talk about after watching the trailer for Captain America: Civil War: that first look at the MCU's own take on Spider-Man, as played by Tom Holland.

As Spidey launches into view with a meek, "hey everyone", the brief shot of the hero already reveals his new, improved costume; which seems to be a throwback to the versions seen in the comics, as opposed to the hyper-realistic ones sported by his earlier cinematic compatriots.

It's a testament to the sheer popularity of the character that we've reached a third onscreen iteration of the character in the space of 14 years; yet everyone still has the energy to lose their minds over 10 seconds of a new Spidey.

It's certainly been a long journey for your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man; from his humble beginnings in an issue of science-fiction and supernatural anthology Amazing Fantasy, to his dual iterations by actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
