William Shatner turns 84 today.

The Canadian actor is best known as Captain James T. Kirk from the original Star Trek series.

As Captain Kirk, Shatner starred in every single episode of the television series, as well as the six feature films that followed.

Outside of the Star Trek universe, Shatner took on several roles in other series, including a role as Denny Crane in Boston Legal from 2004-2008.

He played veteran beauty pageant MC Stan Fields in Miss Congeniality, starring Sandra Bullock as an FBI agent, as well as the film’s sequel, and took a small cameo as the ‘Dodgeball chancellor’ in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.

As a voice actor he played the main antagonist in The Wild and Ozzie the Virginia opossum in Over the Hedge.

In more recent Shatner news, the actor hinted he could be a brony in a recent Twitter exchange with a fan.

Happy Birthday, William Shatner.
