While Pixar may be best known for creating wholly original animated films such as Toy Story, WALL-E, and Up, the company has elected to focus on making sequels in recent years.

Between 2010 and 2019, Pixar will have made seven sequels and only four originals: Toy Story 3, 4, Cars 2, 3, Monsters University, Finding Dory, and The Incredibles 2 matched against Brave, Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur, and Coco.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of people are excited for the latter sequel, based on the animated super-powered family as they presumably adjust to their powers.

Little is known about the film currently but original writer-director Brad Bird commented on where things are at with The Incredibles 2 to Entertainment Weekly.

“I don’t like unwrapping presents before Christmas,” he told the publication. “It’s very actively moving, and we’re excited about it. [We’re] trying to take it in some new directions.”

That was all he could reveal but it's good to know work is still happening on the sequel, which is currently set to hit cinemas 21 June 2019. After then, it seems Pixar will forget about making sequels and once again focus on originals. Finally.
