Horror fans will be excited to hear that the new official trailer for The Woman in Black: Angel of Death has been released.

The thriller, which takes place 40 years after the creepy events of 2012's The Woman in Black, sees a group of World War II schoolchildren evacuated to the haunted Eel Marsh House in the midst of the blitz.

But they soon find themselves "facing an evil far more frightening" when their arrival awakens the house's darkest inhabitant and all their lives are put at risk.

"Are you sure there's no-one else living here?" terrified teacher Eve asks, only to be told to "keep her visions to herself".

Eve knows that evil is closing in and soon the race is on to defeat the Woman in Black, who "never forgives, never forgets and never left".

Of course, there are plenty of jumps and screams in store for cinema-goers, so best take a pillow to hide behind when the movie reaches UK screens on 1 January 2015.

Original star Daniel Radcliffe is not returning for the follow-up, but he can be seen in Horns this Halloween. Helen McCrory, Jeremy Irvine and Phoebe Fox will be tackling the evil presence instead.

Tom Harper, known for Peaky Blinders, has replaced James Watkins in the director's chair, while Jon Croker has penned the script instead of Jane Goldman.
