Dunkirk - Official Announcement Teaser

When your first teaser trailer, nay, ‘date announcement’ video, contains only a handful of shots, you better make sure every single one of them is perfect as they’re going to be subjected to unbelievable scrutiny.

The one for Christopher Nolan’s new film, Dunkirk, was pretty beautiful, but one extra in it was caught slacking.

I thought I was the only one pedantic enough to be irked by him, but no. he’s been spotted and screen grabbed by scores.

The soldier extras merely had to look ominously at the sky and then duck as a plane swooped over, but the man in question briefly looks at the camera (cardinal sin), before offering a sort of bemused smirk. His apparent cheeriness is quite unfortunate given his character is penned in by enemy forces.

At least he’s set the bar pretty low for Harry Styles, who will be making his acting debut in the World War II epic.

Dunkirk depicts the real life Operation Dynamo that saw 300,00 Allied troops rescued from the port, with Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy starring. It hits cinemas sometime in 2017.
